Currently I am the Sr. Network Specialist for a small / medium sized technology consulting company in Omaha, NE. My day to day consists of working with clients to implement new technology, bridge old and new technology, or maintian old technology platforms. Quite often I work on higher level projects and aid in the initial design and final implementation of the product which is where I find myself the happiest. Starting a project from scratch, designing, managing and implementing from start to finish. Before I started at my current position, I worked for a managed services company in Omaha, NE as the Systems Engineering Manager which was the level 2 tech support. My day to day there was handling client issues that were passed on up from the help desk and followed until completing. Additionally, I was in charge of a number of in house engineering tasks that needed to have a watchful eye. I initially started down the IT path in the United States Marine Corps where I completed the 0651 and 0656 data communications courses in 29 Palms, CA. I was stationed in San Diego, CA at the Miramar Air Station. In total I spent 22 months in Iraq and Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During that time, I was awarded 3 Navy Achievement Metals for my service above and beyond the call of duty. I separated from the Marine Corps in May of 2006 as a Corporal (E-4)
