On my trip back from Creston, visiting my parents, I was alone, except my dog, because my wife, Jessica, decided to stay and help her father with some chores for a few days. Well, because I wasn’t pressed for time nor in a hurry for anything, I figured I’d take it easy on my trip back to Omaha. I was in my Mini Cooper S driving with my dog, Sebastian, at a respectable 60 Mph on highway 34 toward Omaha. Driving at this speed is actually pretty hard for me as I have quite a lead foot but for the sake of gas mileage I took it easy. And what do you know, the little Mini payed me back nicely for that. Over the 117.3 Mile drive from Creston, IA to my driveway in Omaha I averaged 39.2 Mpg and peaked before driving in Omaha at 42.7 Mpg. Pretty damn good if you ask me. Now, driving in town is a different story altogether, but I’ll save that for another time.

2003 Mini Cooper SI’ve been pretty bad about taking pictures of my Mini Cooper S that I purchased a few months ago so here is one. I put a coat of wax on this weekend but haven’t gotten all of the detail work finished. I’m pretty happy with the car overall except my inability to keep my from being pinned back all the time. Well, not literally. The car is quick however. It’s a 2003 model, no actual modifications yet, though, I do have a 19% reduced supercharger pulley but am waiting to install for a little while. The black leather seats are a little hot in the summer time but I’m positive I’ll love the heated leather seats in the winter. That is if the car is truely driveable in the winter. I’ll try it out with some winter weather tires on these rims and hopefully get some BMW M3 (Mini Model) rims with some nice meats for the next year and hopefully some track time. I’ll try to get some more pictures on the web for everyone to see. Peace.
