My father came to visit Jessica and I this weekend and as a treat took us out to the movie “Live Free or Die Hard”. The move was definitely two thumbs up on my end. The three of us (Dad, Jessica, and I) were all pretty happy with how the move came out. Though a few parts were a little outlandish we were pretty involved with the movie. The hacking and cracking portions of the movie by the ubergeeks always looks pretty cool and gets me in the mood to totally nerd out. On top of that, Bruce Willis never fails to deliver with his bloody, jaw dropping action packed killing and as you can see, blowing up a helicopter with a cop car. Totally awesome. Adding to what the geeks were doing in the movie, I truly wonder how secure our network of utilities and infrastructure really is. As long as they are connected to the internet there is always some chance that it can be hacked or at least be hit with a denial of service attack. I remember when the movie “Hackers” was first shown and a huge uproar from the intelligence community came about screaming how our whole world could be taken down by hackers. Well, I don’t think that is the case currently due to a number of reasons that would probably fill up the tiny little hard drives my blog is sitting on but mainly on the justification that our government as well as other governments have the best hackers working for them and are under constant surveillance, plus a gun to your head would probably keep you from doing any harm. Well, I’m babbling…go watch the movie and see for yourself. Cheers.
